As a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 153, all of Ibid County Electric's electrical apprentices participate in a five year work and study program before graduating as electrical journeymen. Together with NECA, the National Electrical Contractors Association, and the NJATC, the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, the apprentices of Local 153 attend classes at Ivy Tech State College working towards their Associates of Applied Science degrees. This classroom experience complements the extensive on-the-job training apprentices receive while working alongside experienced journeymen.
